C'mon England

As most of you will know, the World Cup is currently in full swing. England will be playing against Germany in the first knock-out round later on today. Dad is English, so no prizes for guessing which team I’ll be supporting.

Chanting: England... England... England...

To show my support, I donned my England shirt...

... and this is how it looks from the back (I was trying to save a goal in the photograph.)

Of course when it comes to football, I am quite an experienced player. Here are a couple of photos taken by the paparazzi during my training session.

“Whoah... over here!”

“Pass the ball over to me!”

“On my head!”

“YIKES!”

Anyway, I hope England will do their best and win.

C'mon England!

Siena

We had a stopover at Pisa before embarking to our next destination. This time we were going to spend a couple of days in Siena.

Postcards from Siena.

Making myself comfortable on Grandma's bed.

Once we had settled into our hotel room, we set off to explore the booti-ful town of Siena.

Our first stop was the Duomo.

Me, Dad and Grandma in front of Siena's magnificient cathedral.

One of Siena's quaint streets.

Next we went to Piazza Del Campo which occupies the site of the old Roman forum. All the buildings are so amazing.

This is the photo of Piazza Del Campo. Missus only manage to capture half of it!

We couldn’t resist taking some more photos. Me, Missus and Grandma posing in front of Palazzo Publicco.

Me and Missus. She never let me out of her sight.

Dad, Grandma and Me in the Piazza.

And here we are from angle.

There were many people came over to talk to us. (Actually they only wanted to talk to me!)

As we walked further along, we noticed that there was some kind of parade about to start.

One of the parade participants ready to fling his flag high up in the air.

Grandma and I were so impressed that we watched the entire procession before continuing our sight-seeing.

Finally we sat down for something to eat and drink. (A dog has to quench his thirst!) Yay!

For my last few posts, I’ve been ending my blog at a restaurant. This time I’m going to leave you with a picture of my booti-ful Grandma instead.

My Grandma whom I love dearly. I wonder what is she getting for me for my birthday???

Ciao.

Grandma, Me and Pisa

Can you remember my Grandma from England who visited me when I was living in China and Holland? This time she has come over to stay with us in Italy for three weeks. As good hosts, my humans and I have decided to show her around some of Italy’s booti-ful cities.

Me and Grandma.

We began our road trip once Grandma had settled into our place in Lodi. Guess where our first destination was to be?

Ta-da! I’m going back to Pisa.

Here we are ready for the off. I would be sitting next to Grandma for the entire journey.

As an experienced traveller, I decided to show Grandma around Pisa. Here we are in front of the Leaning Tower.

Grandma may be eighty years old but she’s still as strong as an ox.

See what I mean! She can even support the Leaning Tower with her fragile hands! I’m impressed!

Me, Dad and Grandma happily posing in front of the Pisa’s Duomo and Leaning Tower.

After a full day of sight-seeing, we (I mean ‘THEY’) headed to a nearby restaurant for something to eat.

Unfortunately, I had to watch them devouring their food before I could have mine.

OK everyone, thanks for dropping by my blog. I have to go now and start penning the exploits from our trip to the next city on our itinerary. Can you guess where we’re heading to?

Ciao!

Orvieto

Over my past few blogs, I’ve told you all about my trips to Assisi, Napoli and Pompeii. Finally it was time to head back home to Lodi, but not before we took in one more Italian town on the way.

Our stop-off point on the long journey home was to be the town of Orvieto.

I soon got settled in to my hotel room.

It had booti-ful views over the Umbrian countryside.

Once we left the hotel, I decided to take a closer look at the scenery.

Before setting-off around town, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat.

“Can I have some Dad?”

Dad’s a ‘soft-touch’, so he was happy to share.

Missus never lets me have any of her food though. Tsk!

Anyway, let me show you around Orvieto...

Like many of Italy’s towns, Orvieto is filled with quaint medieval streets and piazzas.

Do you ever get the feeling that someone is looking at you?

During our stay, we took in two of Orvieto’s most famous sights...

First, the uniquely booti-ful Duomo...

...and then the scarily deep 'St. Patrick’s Well'.

As I so often do, I’ll end my blog at a restaurant...

“Can I have a drink please signorina?”.

Once my thirst was sufficiently quenched, I lay down for a well earned rest.

Well folks, that’s the end of my blogs from our last tour. Not to worry though, I’m already out on another exotic excursion through Italy. I’ll be back soon with the details...

Pompeii

Whilst staying in Napoli for a few days, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to pay a visit to the nearby archaeological excavations at Pompeii. Here are some photos from our outing…

This is Dad trying to plan our route around the excavation site.

I couldn’t wait for Dad any longer and so decided to set-off on my own.

Of course, I had to stop for a breather every now and then.

Dad finally caught up with me and we started to explore the place together.

This statue is in the famous 'House of the Faun'.

Me and Dad in Pompeii’s Forum…

…and here we are inside the Amphitheatre.

Me and Missus…

…and the three of us together: Missus, Dad and Yours Truly!

The history of Pompeii is a tragic tale. The city was buried under volcanic ash during an eruption by Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. The ruins still show the remnants of life during Roman times, as well as some stark reminders of the day of the eruption itself…

…there are many casts of the victims in the positions in which they perished.

Another victim of Vesuvius’ wrath.

There was even one of our four legged friends found within the ash.

This fellow didn’t seem too perturbed by the history though. He was content to just snooze the day away.

As usual, I made many friends during my sightseeing activities…

…like this little guy…

…and this booti-ful lady.

There were even people trying to get into my photo-shots like the cheeky bloke behind me and Dad here.

Following our trip around the fascinating sights of Pompeii, we all sat down for a well-earned meal.

Next time I’ll tell you about the town we stopped-off at during our journey back from Napoli to home in Lodi.

Ciao for now!
