It's My BIRTHDAY!!!

Happy birthday to meeeee!!! Arooo!!!

I'm so happy because it's my birthday today. I'm now two years old, and supposedly no longer a puppy. That's what the humans say anyway - as far as I'm concerned, I'm still young at heart and able to 'get away with murder'. Anyway, the best thing about my birthday is that I get to 'pig out'!!!

For starters, I had this scrumptious 'chicken a-la king'.

Even better - my birthday cake!

Why is Scooby dooOOOO sitting on my cake???

A typical family portrait. As usual Missus and Dad are doing their best poses, but all I can think about is the food!

Food!!!

Give me my food...

OK, I'll play ball on the posing, as long as I can have some food.

Oops. Sorry, I couldn't stop licking my lips! But I want some food!

Now can we have some food?

Finally, I get to eat the gourmet meal that Missus has prepared for me!

Now I am happy to pose with Missus (Dad calls this shot "The Dafties").

Me and Dad on my second birthday.

At the Beauty Palour

As tomorrow is my birthday, Missus decided to take me to a pet 'groomer' to spruce me up for my special day.

This is the front of the 'beauty palour' that I went to.

I'm sorry that I don't have a 'before' picture but this is me 'after' my grooming session. It's hard to tell any difference but I definitely smell better!

By the way, while I was at the groomer's, I met this American Golden Retriever who lives there. He is about three and half years old. I did not get to know his name, as nobody was around to properly introduce us. Hopefully, I'll let you know his name after I go there next time.

There were also a 'family' of two month old golden retriever puppies. This one seems to be saying: "Pick meeeeee!"

Soon, the others began to fight for our attention.

"Don't pick him, he stinks!"

My New Den

Ruff! Ruff! I'm back and I apologise for the delay since my last blog. I have been very busy during the past couple of weeks: moving apartments, unpacking my toys, finding my food, and generally having a good sniff around in the new neighbourhood. Anyway, I've just had a chance to ask Missus to take some photos of my new den. This is what I will be calling home for the next year or so. Come and join me on a guided tour.

This is the living room. There is a balcony next to it. Sometimes I can spend hours watching the world outside go by.

The dining area.

The kitchen.

The kitchen leads to this open concept laundry room.

The human's room. Shhhh... Don't tell anyone I've been on the bed.

This is a good corner for me to meditate...

My study room. The place where I work on my blog.

The bathroom.

My Journey from Okpo to Shekou

Well, here it is folks, I am about to set-off on my long journey to our new home in China. Missus has kindly agreed to take some photos along the way.

The pet transport company representatives arrived and we got ready to go. I would be travelling in my old crate throughout the whole journey.

Oooooh I am so excited!!!

Ta-ta Koreans!!!

Can we hit the road now???

After Missus gave the pet transport representatives strict instructions to be good to me, and having said our farewells, it was finally time to go.

Missus somehow managed to take this picture of me from the aeroplane. It was nice to know that somebody was watching over me.

Hurry up and get me on the plane! I want to accumulate some more air miles.

This was me departing the aeroplane at Guangzhou airport. Missus even managed to get a photo of me meeting my first Chinaman on the runway.

At last I was reunited with Missus in the van and we left for our new apartment in Shekou! Aren't I an international jet setter??? This is my fourth country (Australia, Singapore, South Korea and now China) and I am not even two years old yet!

Goodbye Korea, Hello China?

As I mentioned earlier, we are about to depart Korea. I have bitter sweet memories of my time here. Some of the people were not too friendly to me. On the bright side, I made some good friends (Miss Kim, Gus, Thorsten, Fredrik and Claudia) to name but a few. It has also been interesting to sniff around in a new country. So, it's goodbye Korea...

... and hello China.

I've been doing some reading up on China. It seems like a nice place but I have one big concern. I understand that there may be some restrictions on me writing my blog. I'm sure I'll find a way around this but in the meantime, please be patient if you don't hear from me for a while.

My Itinerary: Okpo to Shekou

In my last blog, I told you that we will all relocating from South Korea to Shekou in China. The humans have engaged a pet transport company to take me there. I've been checking the atlas to find out where the hell Shekou is. My god, what a long way to go! As I don't trust the humans, I've mapped out the route for myself. For the benefit of those who are not as 'geographically savvy' as myself, take a look at the maps below to see how far I have to go...

Click map to enlarge.

My journey begins in Okpo on Geoje Island where we have been living for the past year and half (this is marked with an 'X' on the map above). From here, I first have to follow the red line to Busan airport. This will take me about three and half hours by car.

From Busan airport, I will catch a plane to Gimpo in Seoul. The flight takes about one hour and the route is shown in red on the map above. Once in Seoul, I will be staying overnight with one of the staff from the pet transport company.

The following morning, I will be taken by car to Incheon airport in Seoul. From there, I will be flying all the way to Guangzhou in southern China. The flight is scheduled to take four hours, with the flight path shown on the map above. Incidentally, Missus will be on the same flight to Guangzhou as me. Unfortunately, while she gets to sit in a comfortable chair with stewardesses plying her with drinks, I will be stuck in a crate in the cargo hold of the aircraft. It doesn't seem very fair to me. Bah!

Finally, after I get to Guangzhou airport and clear the customs' procedures (which I hear could take about five hours) I will begin the last leg of the journey to my new home. This involves a two hour car ride to Shekou, as shown on the map above.

China is right next door to South Korea where I live now. From the journey described above, however, it seems like I will be travelling right around the world!

Moving to China

It's official - we are relocating to Shekou, China. This has been discussed for the past couple of weeks and now we are ging to be moving there by early June. So, for the past week, the humans have been busy packing and making all of the necessary arrangements. It was quite amusing to watch them pack because Missus kept packing stuff and Dad then kept unpacking it - so, nothing was achieved. It entered my mind to offer some assistance but I decided against it - I'd rather get into my favourite position (sleeping) than chip my nails and mess up my 'booti - ful' golden locks!

"Look at all of dad's stuff. I've got everything I need in my mouth!"

"I'm not going into the suitcase too!"
