Star Wars

Today started out like any other day. There I was, out for my regular afternoon stroll, just minding my own business. Little did I know the adventure that was about to unfold. Suddenly…

A long time ago in a galaxy far far awayI bumped into a couple of characters from Star Wars…

First I met this guy. I think he is called Balou (I’ll find out for sure later). However, to me he looked like he should be called Chewbacca. Can you see the similarity?

Chewbacca was with his old friend, who bore an uncanny resemblance to Yoda . See what I mean.

Eager to help out my Jedi pals, I offered my services in the fight against the Empire. I gave myself the name ‘Homer Skywalker’.

Yoda gave us our instructions for the mission. Apparently, we all just had to run around aimlessly. (Luckily, this is my Jedi speciality!)

Those experienced Jedis were soon well ahead of me, but I was hot on their tails.

Yoda and Chewy in full flight with young Skywalker snapping at their heels.

Unfortunately, Yoda then turned the tables on me.

Then, Chewbacca also turned on me.

It was scary being chased by Chewbacca the Wookie...

...it was like having a giant grizzly bear right behind me.

Anyway, the mission was soon over and we all saluted each other as gallant Jedis. I hope it will not be too long before I meet up with Yoda and Chewy again. (And, if I’m lucky, a Princess Leia lookalike too).

As I resumed my walk, I soon came across some other intergalactic creatures...

Are these Ewoks?

Wow, that was enough Star Wars adventures for one day. Luckily, as I carried on my journey I came across some old, more down to earth, friends...

Remember Wally from one of my earlier blogs? Well here he is again with some of his mates.

While Dad went across to say hello to Wally, I was left to contemplate on what had been an action-packed day.

May the force be with you,

Homer Skywalker

My Fling with Floor

You may remember in my last blog (I know, it was a long time ago) that I met a new friend. Her name was ‘Floor’. (Her owner assured me that this was the correct spelling).

As promised, I’d like to show you a few pictures of the two of us frolicking around.

This is Floor. She’s a three year old golden retriever, just like me.

Here we are getting to know each other.

A brief stand-off...

...and then the games commenced. Floor was getting the upper hand at first...

...but I soon fought back.

Unfortunately, Floor had some moves that I wasn’t prepared for.

In the middle of our shenanigans, we had a brief interlude...

...but we were soon back into our frolics.

Look at Floor’s scary face!

At the end of our playtime we were both exhausted. It was great fun though and I can’t wait to meet up with Floor again.

Spring is Coming

Hello doggies and humans. My apologies that I haven’t been blogging for a while – I've been too busy doing nothing to do anything!

Well, spring is definitely coming and I’m loving it. Having lived in the tropics of Asia for most of my life, I’m not used to experiencing four seasons during a year. It seems like only yesterday that we were all ‘freezing ‘:

‘Brrrrrhhhhh...’

Now my walks take place in much milder weather. Take a look at what I saw during a recent outing...

The birds were out in force and they’re getting ready for ‘mating’. (Whatever that is? I think they have sex with bees!)...

...and the flowers were starting to bloom.

It was truly an idyllic setting for my walk...

This little chap was also soaking up the scenery.

We stopped for a sniff.

We then came across a funny looking two-legged dog. I’ve decided to call him ‘Wally’.

Dad soon made friends with Wally and his pals.

They all got along very well.

I must admit, I was a little bit jealous that Dad was giving his attention to Wally rather than me. Hmph!

Finally, I bumped into ‘Floor’, a three year old female golden retriever.

We were soon bouncing around like 'mad march hares'. More about this another time.

By the time my walk was finished, I was exhausted. What better way to end a spring walk than with a relaxing sit on a park bench.

I’m really looking forward to the rest of spring.
