A Doggie Tea Party

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to a special Doggie Tea Party. Yay!!!

The event was held at a very swanky hotel. Here's the welcome sign.

The turnout was great! There were dogs of all different varieties - big dogs, small dogs, fat dogs, skinny dogs, old dogs, young dogs, crazy dogs, lazy dogs and even hot dogs!

That's me sniffing around for FOOD...

...and checking out the babes!

Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get this lady's attention.

Nevertheless, I did make tons of friends during the afternoon!

For instance, I got to know these friendly Labradors, Rae and Audie (sorry if I've spelt their names wrong).

I also got on well with these two Jack Russells, Joey and Jack.

But there was one special guy who I was dying to meet.

This is me with Helios . It was Helios who first inspired me to start blogging. Well, actually, it was Helios' older brother, Herbie, who was my initial inspiration. Unfortunately, Herbie passed away a few years ago, but his protégé Helios has now taken-up the blogging reins.

As well as making lots of four-legged friends, there were some (not so) serious competitions to take part in at the pawty. First there was the 'best teeth' contest...

I thought I couldn't lose with these 'pearly whites'...

...but this guy, Pinot, obviously uses better toothpaste than me!

Next though was the competition which I'd been training for my whole life. Can you guess what it was?

Believe it or not, this was for the contest for the 'biggest dog at the pawty'!

And the winner was...

Aroooo! Yours Truly was the Champion!!!

Before we all left, the organisers held a lucky draw. Guess who won the star prize...

Arooooo, me again! The prize was this huge cake.

I was all ready to scoff the lot. Unfortunately, Missus agreed to have the cake cut into pieces and shared with all the other doggies at the pawty. Bah!

Anyway, I had a fantastic day. My thanks go to the Singapore ASD (the Action for Singapore Dogs Society - a local doggie shelter) which organised the festivities. I can't wait for the next one!
