Christmas

Finally it's Christmas Day. This year my humans decided to stay at home and have a traditional Christmas turkey lunch.

Whoa! I can't wait to sink my teeth into that turkey! Can you see me?

Hurry up! Let's start eating!

I'm starving, can I have a small piece as a starter?

My Christmas lunch. Actually I ended up having twice this amount.

After lunch, it was time for me to open my presents. I got biscuits, treats, a plush toy and...a toothbrush! Are my humans trying to insinuate that my breath stinks?

Sorry, but I have to stop writing now. I know it's a bit abrupt but I have to go and try to get some more turkey. I'm afraid that if I wait any longer, there won't be any left for me!

The Night Before Christmas

It's Christmas Eve and I'm so looking forward to tomorrow when I can open up all of my new presents. I'm so excited that I could even burst into song...

♫♪ On the first day of Christmas, my true love (Kira) sent to me a snowman singing a song ♫♪

♫♪ Deck the halls with boughs of holly Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la ♫♪

♫♪ Frosty the snowman ♫♪

If you want to hear this song for real, take a look at the video above. Kira gave me this toy thinking it was cute. If you ask me, it just gives me the spooks!

Speaking of "Frosty", here's me with a 'frosty face'.

Here are some of our presents for Christmas. As I said, Kira got me the snowman in the middle. Balu gave us the plant on the right. The rest of the presents are from Missus and Dad to each other and to me.

As usual, Missus didn't let the occasion pass without getting me to dress up. Here, I think I look like Zorro - but with more funk!

In this photo, I'm trying to blend in with the Christmas tree decorations. I think I need more tinsel.

Christmas Cards

As Christmas is coming, I have been busy sending greetings cards to some of my canine and human friends. For those of you who I accidentally left out, here’s a special version of my personal card, just for you…

Yep, that’s me wearing the reindeer antlers.

I’m pleased to say that I’ve also been receiving lots of cards from my canine friends all over the world. Here’s a selection of just a few of them.

So booti-ful!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to ‘bark’ a thank you to those who have sent me greetings via cards and emails. I would also like to wish all of my friends, readers (and fans) a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Kira

I have been a bachelor for quite a while now and I think it’s about time that I found myself a girlfriend to keep me company. Don’t get me wrong – I still love my humans, but that’s different from true canine love.

Ta-da! This is Kira. She’s not my girlfriend (yet), but I hope that one day she will be. (Paws crossed).

When I first met Kira, she was tired from her flight from Israel to China and so she wasn’t in the mood to play. However, when we next met, she had sufficiently recovered from her jetlag and we had a ‘ball’. Speaking of a ‘ball’, I’ve attached some photos of Kira and I dancing.

First we did the ‘jitterbug’.

Then the ‘highland fling’.

This is me showing Kira my ‘breakdancing’ moves.

We finished off with the dance that Uma Thurman and John Travolta did in ‘Pulp Fiction’ (or should that be ‘Pup Fiction’?).

Unfortunately, at one point I accidentally stepped on Kira’s paw.

Following my scolding from Kira, I was a bit reluctant to continue our dancing session.

Instead, we just decided to have a good old play around…

… chasing each other around the bush…

… jumping around like monkeys…

… and having a good sniff about.

Next up, Kira challenged me to a race. As you know, I’m quite quick on my paws, and so I readily agreed.

This is me trying to get a head start.

Soon, we were at full speed.

At this point, we were neck and neck.

Then Kira ran across my path. (What a cheat!)

Finally, I managed to get in front and crossed the finishing line in first place. Hurray! Aroo – woo – woo!

To finish with, here’s a proper photo of me and Kira sitting side by side. Notice how Kira does not let her tongue hang out like mine. She’s such a lady! (Damn, I think I am falling in love…). Anyway, don’t you think we make a perfect couple?

Peanut Butter Cookie

Some time ago, when Missus was in Singapore, she met a handsome male golden retriever named Helios. The reason why he looks so handsome is probably because his mum bakes him some delicious cookies (I know this because I've read Helios' blog).

Anyway, I wanted some cookies too and I managed to ‘pester’ Missus into baking me some. She found a Peanut Butter cookie receipe and decided to give it a try.

'Drool'... This was me waiting in front of the oven for the cookies to be ready. I wish it would hurry up.

Voila! My Peanut Butter Cookies. They smelled and tasted heavenly except they looked a bit burnt!

Four Golden Friends

Mr. Lu and his son own four beautiful golden retrievers. Their names are Luca, Linco, Lacy and Lewin. I have so far only met one of them - Lewin. I think she is booti-ful! It was very embarassing when I met her as I was drooling uncontrollably. I couldn't help it - she's HOT!

We did not manage to get a photo taken at that time because my humans did not bring the camera. Let's hope that we'll get a snapshot of me and Lewin the next time we meet. Anyway, you can still see Lewin and gang in this video.

A Visit from Mister

Mister was over at my place recently and the humans took some photos of us having a good time (see photos below).

This is Mister and he loves to talk (especially to me). He talked so much that I had to put my mouth over his to keep him quiet.

Even in this position, Mister refused to stop talking.

After all that talking, we decided to put on some fancy wigs. Mister got an instant transformation. I think he was rather pleased with his overall look. His style resembled Anna Wintour. As for me, I think I looked like Michael Jackson when he was a kid?

As you can see, this is us begging for food at the dinner table. I guess all that talking and dressing up made us hungry. Unfortunately, we didn't get any food.

Finally, we took a short break before resuming our activities. By the way, I hope Mister's humans don't see this photo as he is not normally allowed on the couch!

My First Christmas Tree

Whilst my humans were on holiday in Egypt, Mister and his humans surprised us by bringing over a gorgeous Christmas Tree. Initially, the tree was 'planted' on the balcony, with the door closed to prevent me from getting at it. I know I can be clumsy at times but I am no dogzilla! Now my humans are back and they have found a nice cosy corner for the tree. Unfortunately, that means that my crate has been displaced. Oh well, it's only a temporary arrangement...

Actually, this is my first Christmas tree. We didn't have one in Singapore for my first Christmas because we were busy moving to Korea. Then, for my second Christmas, we were in Korea and the Koreans are not into 'Santa Paws' and so we were not able to get a nice tree there. Still, I was lucky enough to spend Christmas with my humans and I got to eat loads of turkey.

So, back to the present. I can't help but to admire our new tree. It stands tall and grand. From a dog's point of view, it looks so magnificent. It also looks so tempting for me to make a mad dash into it, hoping that some stupid squirrels will appear? Heh! Heh! If Missus knew what I was thinking, she would 'kill' me!

Me, Mister and the tree.

Dogs in Egypt

My humans were in Egypt recently to visit the Pharoahs (I thought they were dead?), the Sphinx and the Pyramids.

This regal looking jackal/dog is Anubis, one of the Egyptian gods from the time of the Pharoahs. Anubis was the god of mummification, the patron of embalmers and the guardian of cemetries. He was highly respected and worshipped by the Egyptians during ancient times.

As usual, Missus also took some pictures of the local dogs roaming near the tourist sites.

This is a modern day 'Anubis' falling asleep in the desert.

Another 'Anubis' sleeping on the pavement. Look how skinny he is!

Two Anubis' - one in the corner of the photo.

An 'Anubis' basking in the sunlight.

Another 'Anubis' sleeping in the desert. According to Missus, he was sleeping right next to one of the pyramids.

More 'Anubis'. There were so many Anubis' around!

This 'Anubis' was actually right next to the very first pyramid in Egypt (the step pyramid - built for the pharoah, Zoser).
