Lake Garda

Remember I told you a few weeks ago about our trip to Lake Garda to visit my friends Lucille, Nicoletta and Marco? Well, not long afterwards we arranged to go back to meet them once more. Unfortunately, our friends weren't able to make it on the day. (Sob...sob...).

Never mind, I still managed to have a great time just playing with my humans. Here's some of the many photos taken on the day...

Can I go swimming Dad?

Luckily, Dad thought it was a great idea and he'd brought the famous 'ball of tennis' to make our game more interesting.

"Woof! Woof! Yes...I'm ready...throw the ball of tennis!"

"Eeeeee....AHhhhhhhhhh...!"

Woohooo! Off I pounced!

This is the fun part. Now where the heck is it?

Got it!

Mission accomplished!

Of course I was eager to accomplish the same mission at least fifty times more...

This is the second round...

...There she blows!

A leisurely swim out to my target! Ah...life is good!

"Just keep swimming...just keep swimming..."

And here I am bringing the ball of tennis back...

...again...

...again...

...and again! Hmmph! This is just too easy! I could go on forever.

Unfortunately, I don't think poor Dad could carry on much longer with his throwing efforts.

So, we called a temporary halt to our water retrieving games and I tried out some other activities, like..

...rock climbing.

Just a bit further...

...and now I'm the 'king of the castle', with a bird's-eye view of Lake Garda to-boot!

Soon we were off for a walk along the shore of the lake...

...all the way into the booti-ful town of Lazise.

During the day, Missus managed to capture me in some of my best modelling poses. Here's a sample...

I call this one 'The Stag'!

Homer: 'The Collossus of Garda'

My 'distant' poet's look.

Nonchalent!

Intense!

Pity Me?

Peek-a-boo!

And just plain, lovable me!

Well folks, I had a fantastic time in one of my favourite places. I can't wait to get back there (and hopefully meet up with Lucille).

Water, a ball and a retriever - ther perfect combination. It looks like you had lots of fun with your dad at the lake, and there are some great photos of you in your posed photos. I like your "distant" poets look the best.

Sending you lots of woofs,
Riley

You have an excellent personal photographer, Homer. Looks like you have both of your pawrents well trained.

We don't quite understand your harness. It looks like when you sit, it slides down almost to your elbows and binds your legs. How do you stand up again? Obviously you have no trouble running, swimming & walking with it, so it's perfectly functional. Just curious.
