A Doggie Tea Party

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to a special Doggie Tea Party. Yay!!!

The event was held at a very swanky hotel. Here's the welcome sign.

The turnout was great! There were dogs of all different varieties - big dogs, small dogs, fat dogs, skinny dogs, old dogs, young dogs, crazy dogs, lazy dogs and even hot dogs!

That's me sniffing around for FOOD...

...and checking out the babes!

Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get this lady's attention.

Nevertheless, I did make tons of friends during the afternoon!

For instance, I got to know these friendly Labradors, Rae and Audie (sorry if I've spelt their names wrong).

I also got on well with these two Jack Russells, Joey and Jack.

But there was one special guy who I was dying to meet.

This is me with Helios . It was Helios who first inspired me to start blogging. Well, actually, it was Helios' older brother, Herbie, who was my initial inspiration. Unfortunately, Herbie passed away a few years ago, but his protégé Helios has now taken-up the blogging reins.

As well as making lots of four-legged friends, there were some (not so) serious competitions to take part in at the pawty. First there was the 'best teeth' contest...

I thought I couldn't lose with these 'pearly whites'...

...but this guy, Pinot, obviously uses better toothpaste than me!

Next though was the competition which I'd been training for my whole life. Can you guess what it was?

Believe it or not, this was for the contest for the 'biggest dog at the pawty'!

And the winner was...

Aroooo! Yours Truly was the Champion!!!

Before we all left, the organisers held a lucky draw. Guess who won the star prize...

Arooooo, me again! The prize was this huge cake.

I was all ready to scoff the lot. Unfortunately, Missus agreed to have the cake cut into pieces and shared with all the other doggies at the pawty. Bah!

Anyway, I had a fantastic day. My thanks go to the Singapore ASD (the Action for Singapore Dogs Society - a local doggie shelter) which organised the festivities. I can't wait for the next one!

Awesome post and what a fun time you had. Most doggies miss kindergarten, so you are excused for not understanding the sharing concept. We still love you though....BOL

We are going to check out your friends blog.

Hi Homer, what a wonderful tea party!!! Congrats on winning - that cake looks so delicious. You were very nice to share it too. We loved seeing all the different pups you met, but you are by far the most handsome.

Mazel tov, Homer, on your wins! We hope you at least got to eat your cookie medal by yourself. That looks like a wonderful idea - a doggie tea! Mama loves formal teas; maybe we can get her to put on a doggie tea for us and a few close friends. Thanks for the idea! We can use recipes from Jack's cookbook.

that looks like FUN! man if Loki was there, his "cloony's" (named after George Cloony's pearly whites) would totally win that teeth prize...

hey real quick, i've been really sick on and off a lot lately (i can email you if you want to know more) but i haven't had much time to follow my friends on blogs. anyway, i just want to say thank you for the inspiration on the camera. i'm going to do a little post about it this week and mention you and my bro who both inspired me. the new camera rocks. still love my point and shoot camera too for it's cool creative effects, but London was the first place for me to try it out. i took 100s of shots and deleted 50% of them cuz it was hard to learn how to use. i literally just got the camera the day before i left. and it's hard learning the functions. when my health is better i plan to take a few classes. but thank you again. you were one those who planted the seed! :)

i wish i got to meet homer. now that i'm comfortable meeting new dogs on walks and stuff and we have hiking pals with dogs, i'm 100% sure, loki and homer would get along. juno of course would adore him. bummed we missed each other. maybe some day.

hugs,
J from wild dingo (loki and juno send wags to Homer)
