Latest Update On My Tumour

Woof folks.

In a previous post, I told you that I had undergone surgery to remove a tumour on my front left paw. The earlier cytology on an aspirate sample suggested that it was a Round Cell Tumour.

Well, the results of the biopsy on the nodule itself revealed that it was, in fact, a Grade 2 Mast Cell Tumour. Of course my humans have been very concerned. After all, we lived through around ten months of surgery, chemotherapy and general ‘unpleasantness’ when I was battling through three other Mast Cell Tumours only last year.

Anyway, since the surgery, I have had various blood analyses, ultrasound scans, x-rays and other examinations to check whether the cancer was still a problem. Fortunately, up till now, everything appears to be clear. We are still monitoring the situation and it might be that chemotherapy or radiotherapy might be necessary/prudent.

I’ll keep you all informed on developments.

Love,
Homer

My Surgical Wounds are Healing Nicely

A couple of months ago, I had my Mast Cell Tumours (Gosh! I dread those words) removed. One was located on my shoulder blade and the other next to my paw pad.

This was how it looked after I came out from surgery.

The scar was ten centimetres long.

My poor little foot!

I am happy to say that my wounds are recovering nicely and there are no signs of cancer cells in the affected areas.

Here are some photos taken a couple of days ago.

Look at my shoulder now. You can hardly tell that I had an operation.

…and my foot is fine...

…I am very pleased and hope that I never have to go through that again. NEVER!

Sakura and My Upcoming Trip to the Vets

In my last post, I mentioned that I had a little fiend… I mean FRIEND (oops!) who has been staying with us for the past month.

Everybody, may I introduce you to my new friend, Sakura.

She is a Japanese Spitz and she just turned ONE a few days ago! (More about this later.)

Sakura is a very sweet and adorable little puppy. Her crazy antics always make us laugh. For instance…

…have you ever seen a dog sleeping like this…

…with her tongue sticking out like a cheeky monkey’s?

‘Gasp’ Doggy porn!

The ‘Odd Couple’.

On another note – I am scheduled to see my vet this coming Friday with a possibility of going into surgery to remove the tumours.

According to the humans, I will be sedated and the vet will then do an aspirate on my right paw to check for cancer cells. If no cancer cells are detected, they will proceed with the surgery to have the lump removed. Otherwise I am back to my chemo drugs again.

So, wish me luck my friends. Fingers, paws and tails crossed!

Lots of love,
Homer
