Gone But Not Forgotten

Although I always try to be a happy boy, this has been a tough week for me to keep up my spirits. It seems like the days have been filled with bad news.

First, I got word about the passing of dear 'The Bleu'. Following a brave battle against cancer, he finally decided to go and join his beloved brother 'The Luke'.

The Bleu

11 November 2002 to 26 January 2012

I hope you have fun with your bro forever.

..............................

No sooner had that news sunk in than I learnt that my dear friend Maggie had left us.

Maggie

10 July 1998 to 28 January 2012

Over the years, I've come to know Maggie (and Mitch) so well through following their wonderful blog. In turn, they have always been supportive of my blog - leaving the kindest of comments every time I have posted.

..............................

Finally, I received the saddening news that my namesake, Homer, had also crossed over the rainbow bridge.

Homer

November 2007 to 31 January 2012

Homer, and the rest of his pack from the Bumpass Hounds, have also become firm favourites of mine in the blogosphere. I can still remember the day when he first commented on one of my blogs and introduced himself. I couldn't believe that there was another 'Homer the Golden Retriever' out there! Ever since then, I have followed Homer and his family's adventures with relish.

So sad, and yet so many happy memories to hang on to. I will miss you The Bleu, Maggie and Homer with all of my heart.

Run wild and run free dear friends.

Love, Homer

Hey Homer,
We all wanted to thank you for the kind words about our Homer as well as Maggie and The Bleu. CANCER SUXS, especially in Goldens. We've been going over some of your past blog posts that we've missed while our dad has been preoccuppied. We love your new house; dad's been to Singapore a couple of times on his aircraft carriers. He says it's a very clean city, even immaculate compared to most east coast U.S. cities. We'll try to be more involved soon.

Oh Sweet Homer...

Thank you so much for this thoughtful post. There is never enough time to spend in the company of those you love so much. We weren't ready to let go of our Sweet Bleu, but the time had come...

Our only consolation is that he has rest from his battle, and he's with the Luke again.

Life's not the same around here, but Reufus is doing what he can to fill the air with energy. For sure, he fills my heart with love.

You've been such a wonderful friend. I'll never forget the ways you supported the Luke and now, sweet Bleu. We hope to engage in the blog world again soon.

We love you so very much!

The Mom to The Bleu, The Luke... and now, Little Reufus
